John Stazko was a pet grooming pioneer and the industry's first guru. His influence began over four decades ago and continues on to this day. A revered professional, speaker, demonstrator, contest judge and educator, he did it all. He owned salons with retail & boarding, and even managed mobile vans. He successfully groomed for Broadway plays, movies, national commercials and popular magazines. John shared decades of practical knowledge to thousands of groomers educated by his seminars and videos.
Many knew him as past executive coordinator for Intergroom; a most prestigious international grooming conference. Additionally, he directed and instructed at leading schools, served as marketing and product development consultant, was an award-winning author, and a strong voice for the development of state education on grooming school certification.
He was duly recognized by his peers as a recipient of both Cardinal Crystal Achievement Awards for “Outstanding Service to the Grooming Industry”, and “Congeniality”, the American Grooming Shop Association’s highest award “The Golden Key”, the New England Pet Grooming Professional’s “Srius Award”, and “Sue Busch Memorial Award”.
John passed quietly in October of 2021 leaving behind his legacy of love, wisdom, and passion for all to share.
